A native Oregonian, James founded Ultrex in 1999 in Albany, Oregon. “I take pride in the fact that Ultrex is a truly local company, looking out for the needs and prosperity of our local communities,” he said. “I really enjoy getting creative to help customers be more efficient while saving them money, and developing a “family” culture within the company.” Developing a good life balance has always been important to James. “I work to live, not live to work,” he said. “But I also like to work hard; if you get more things done today, things won’t be so hectic tomorrow.” When asked how he’d like to be remembered, James replied, “A good dad, a hard worker and someone who’s enjoyable to be around.” In 2021 James sold the business to Taras Sarapin, his business partner and friend.
